Our story begins in the vineyard.
For more than twenty years, Evan Haywood has worked amongst the vineyards of Margaret River. A true man of the land, his life has been shaped by the seasons, the soil and the rhythms of vineyard life.
Long before the first bottle carried the Haywood name, Evan was growing grapes, managing vineyards and developing a deep understanding of what makes Margaret River one of the world's great wine regions.
That experience remains the foundation of Haywood Wine Co today.
Based in Metricup, in the heart of Margaret River, we believe great wine begins long before harvest. Every vintage starts with careful vineyard management, respect for the land and a commitment to producing exceptional fruit.
All grapes used in our wines come either from our own vineyard or from vineyards under our direct management. This hands-on approach allows us to remain closely connected to every stage of the journey, from vine to bottle.
While vineyards are Evan's passion, great wine is always a team effort.
The Haywood wines have also been shaped by long-standing friendships within the Margaret River wine community. In particular, Evan had the privilege of working closely with respected winemaker Bernie Stanlake, whose experience, generosity and shared commitment to quality helped shape the wines and the philosophy behind the Haywood brand. His contribution will always remain part of our story.
Today, Haywood Wine Co continues to build on those foundations, producing small-batch wines that reflect the land they come from, the people behind them and the unique character of Margaret River.
We remain a family-owned business committed to authenticity, craftsmanship and creating wines that are made to be shared with family and friends.
